Yuletide 2020
Hey there! Hope you have fun with this assignment this year. Don't stress out too much, I'm easy going. My hard DNW is rape and the discussion of rape or its aftermath. Porn is fine, but please no hardcore kink.
Some general likes: plotlines rooted in emotional development of characters, found family, role reversal AUs, "what if" canon divergence AUs, break up/get back together, pining, and romcom stuff (like misunderstanding shenanigans, mistaken identity, etc). Love things that are funny and heartfelt, but I also don't mind sad!
General dislikes: not a fan of hurt/comfort, melodramatic angst, body horror, explicit sex scenes.
Haunting of Bly Manor - Jamie

Would love some fic about Jamie/Dani, but equally happy with gen. I thought it was such a beautiful love story handled in such a gentle way, but understandably vague on details because of time and plot constraints, so feel free to write something that fills in the details! How does Dani's family react to Jamie? Did Dani come out? What was the situation like for Dani and Edmund's mother, who was someone she obviously felt a huge sense of obligation to? They seem to have lived in Paris, too! (They appear to have gone straight back to their apartment after having dinner at Owen's restaurant.) Parisian lesbian florists? AMAZING. Write as many details as you want! Road trip in America, before moving back abroad? So many tropes!
I've also had this idea that...they become ghosthunters after Bly. Like...just a thought. Jamie's good with a shotgun. Feel free to run with that. I would be very happy.
Role reversal AU - Dani is the live-in teacher, and Jamie is the new hire groundskeeper with ghosts of her own?

Would love anything about Owen and Jamie's friendship, either pre or post canon, or Jamie's relationship to the kids. She seems to be a family friend, but not a close one, in the 2007 scenes? Is the memory wipe that happens to Miles and Flora repetitive, so is that even the first time she's told them what happened?? What if she's told them dozens of times, and they keep forgetting!!
Jamie's life pre-Bly? Where are her brothers, is she still in touch? Her dad? Does her mother come back into her life at some point??
Carla Gugino says that she changed Jamie's accent slightly to imply that she's done a lot of traveling, spent more time in London, etc. Maybe talk about that! What did she do, this lesbian traveling gardener!!
These aren't nominated characters so feel free to ignore but would also be happy with anything about Rebecca. God, Rebecca!! So sad. Or Henry and Charlotte's love story? There were so many vague, unanswered questions - seriously, I'd be happy with anything.
The Goldfinch, Donna Tartt - Boris & Theo
Gotta have at least one gay disaster ship in here. It's about the culture, see
I'm always down for an AU where Boris came with Theo to NYC when he asked. How would that have changed both their lives? Would Boris still have sold the painting/chosen the gay goth mafia as a career path? Art forgery "no really he's like my brother" "uh huh, sure" partners? Also the potential of Hobie and Boris getting to know each other? Amazing. Endless.
Post-canon, do they rekindle their affair? Really amused by the idea that Boris's mafia compatriots all think Theo is like, his kept man, and none of them mention it because they're all trying very hard to be polite. Alternatively - an AU where Theo follows Boris instead into a Life of Crime. Art thieves? Mafia money launderers? Extremely cultured con men?
Gen ideas - always here for Vegas fic! Sleepovers. Shoplifting. High school drama. I want all of it. Role reversal AU - Boris is the one sent to NYC after his father's death to stay with "family friends," and meets Theo and his lovely (alive) mother? (That one is golden. Amazing stuff/potential there. Boris would absolutely still teach Theo how to shoplift.)
Art thieves AU - rivals who secretly were once best friends as children? Constantly trying to one-up each other and they both secretly think it's the most fun they've ever had?

Little Women 2019 - Amy & Laurie
It's about the *clenches fist* PINING
But no seriously my kingdom for every AU where Amy and Laurie don't get together in Europe, and the pining stretches out much longer. Having to see each other back home, where Amy is desperately trying to save face now that he knows how she feels (and doesn't feel the same, so she thinks) in a sort of reversal of the "Laurie rejected by Jo" situation? But then the feelings are actually RETURNED?? Fanfiction gold spot. Amazing.
Always down for Modern AU! How does it translate? Is Europe a study abroad situation? Do Laurie and Jo actually date, in a more modern day environment?
And also, I am of course down for gen stories: What were they like as kids? My fragile heart is weak for precocious little Amy, determined to follow Laurie and Jo around and be included, but prideful at any hint that she's not welcomed. Friendship after Beth's death - Laurie doing his best to support Amy, who isn't always good at allowing herself to be supported?
When did Amy find out about Laurie's proposal to Jo, and what were her real feelings about that (potential) relationship? Angst, fluff, I'm down for anything.
Whatever you write - have fun with it! I'm a big proponent of doing these exchanges because they're fun for you, so don't stress out too much. And have a happy, safe holiday season!
